Dinner and Silent Auction to Support SMS Research
The SMS Research Foundation was created in 2010 with the singular goal of raising much-needed funds for research grants to study Smith-Magenis Syndrome. The foundation is proud to have recently awarded their first $50,000 grant to Drs. James Lupski and Wenli Gu of The Baylor College of Medicine. Their research involves the specific protein on the 17th chromosome whose deletion/mutation is the cause of Smith-Magenis Syndrome.
This research is funded directly by fundraisers such as Dream for Damian. Every dollar raised by Dream for Damian and the SMS Research Foundation supports grant funding - which is why we believe in it so much.
